...with Alicia Framis
In this episode of WAS MIT KUNST, Johann König talks to the Amsterdam-based artist Alicia Framis. Known for her interactive and interdisciplinary art and performances, she addresses social and political grievances.
They talk about previous projects, fears, being a Dreamkeeper and her new show LEAVE HERE YOUR FEARS at König Galerie, Berlin. For this exhibition, Framis has constructed a mirrored steel sculpture that will occupy the center point of the Chapel at St. Agnes. This durational, interactive show involves two distinct moments, both anchored to the reflective object at its core. In the first moment, Framis asks viewers to write down their greatest fears and drop them into a small opening on the sculpture's mirrored surface. In the second moment, Framis takes the anonymous letters and transfers them onto stretched canvases that will then cover the walls of the chapel.
Beginning with her opening on March 23rd in König Galerie, Berlin, she will continue to work on her pieces daily in the gallery through April 22nd. Visitors can thus become part of her work creation and see a new state of her exhibition every day.
